Flying Monkey

Flying Monkey might not be a term that you are familiar with, or at least you weren't before you met Asshole.

He loves using this term, because he in fact uses Flying Monkey's to try to manipulate people. He may have even turned you into a Flying Monkey without you even knowing it.

I think that everyone has seen The Wizard of Oz. The wicked witch has her flying monkeys that she sends to do her bidding. Whatever she wants done, she sends them, so that she doesn't have to lift a finger. That's what narcissists do. They send Flying Monkeys to send messages, or do things for them to their victims.

What are flying monkeys? The term ‘flying monkeys’ is another way of saying ‘abuse by proxy’ or having someone else do the bidding of in this case a narcissist. If you click the link above, it is a great article that explains how narcissists groom you and your friends to be their flying monkeys.

An example of how Asshole tried to manipulate someone to be a flying monkey was an older lady named Shirley. He claimed that she was his personal secretary at work, however Shirley would later deny that as the case. Asshole had her driving him around, and after our relationship ended, he would have Shirley reach out to me on his behalf. Shirley did not have the whole story from Asshole, so she was acting on good faith, trying to help him, not knowing that at the time she reached out, he was under release conditions to not attempt to contact me directly or indirectly. Shirley reaching out counted as indirect contact. The message was simple, he was in hospital, and needed to see me, so we could talk about things. He used his injury, that I believe he caused himself, as a way to pull at the heartstrings of an old woman to help him.

Asshole knew that what he was having Shirley do was illegal, as it violated court orders, but he didn't care, and he hoped that it wouldn't come back to him. He used her to do the dirty work, that he knew if he did himself would land him back in police custody.
